Start Shrinking your Belly Today
It may surprise you to hear that sit ups are not the fastest route to a flat stomach. The following tips show you how to burn your belly fat for good; and there's not a sit up in sight. Discover how to attack your spare tyre, tone all the major abdominal muscles and create real definition using just one simple workout.
Kick start the Fat burning with Boxing
Try throwing some punches from a standing position, twisting at the waist as you do so. Make your movements fast and powerful and ensure that your hips remain as still as possible; the twisting motion should come from the waist for maximum stomach toning potential. This exercise combines aerobic and strengthening elements, allowing you to lose fat and create muscle definition simultaneously.
Pick up a Weight to Banish the Fat
If you don't own hand weights, a full water bottle is equally effective for this exercise. Stand with your feet hip width apart, holding a weight with both hands at waist height. Make a figure of eight with your arms, concentrating on twisting at the waist and sucking the abdominal muscles in.
Work Your Core
The rolling plank is an excellent option for all round toning and fat burning as it works such a wide range of muscles. From a plank position, lift one arm and roll your whole body sideways, supporting yourself with both feet and your other arm. You should finish in an oblique plank position. Roll back down to the starting position and repeat the move on the other side. Aim for a smooth rolling motion; to achieve this you'll need to engage your abs through the whole movement, giving them an intense workout.
Add Dynamo
This exercise is a development of the basic side plank and works your obliques. Hard! From the side plank position, drop the hips towards the floor and lift them back up again. Continue making this movement in a slow, controlled manner as you hold the side plank position. Repeat on the other side. If you're looking for an even more intense fat burner, hold the basic side plank for a minute after completing the dynamic exercise.
Remember
You don't always need to rely on traditional exercises to banish your belly fat. Try incorporating some of the moves detailed above into your routine; you'll soon find that they add variety to your normal routine and get fast, effective results.
